Student Employment

Our Dining Services staff is a highly motivated group of individuals working as a team to provide you with service that exceeds your expectations.

NMU Dining Services employs more than 450 students each semester with a total student payroll of nearly $1,000,000 per year. We offer competitive starting salaries ranging from $7.40 to $10.45 per hour (wages are subject to change depending on minimum wage increases).

In addition, you are given an opportunity for advancement based upon your work performance. Many of our student employees work in our department their entire college career and advance from kitchen attendant to student supervisor. What a great addition to a job resume!

There are many other advantages to working in Dining Services. We work around your class schedule, you get to meet a lot of great people, and there is no need for transportation with a job on campus.

The Dining Services Department has various positions which may be available and for which you may apply. We also offer positions in various Dining Services locations on campus. Those include:

For more information or to apply for a position, contact Aleta Nolan, Student Employment Coordinator, 1103 University Center or call 906-227-2520.

Meals on the Go

motgLogo

“Meals on the Go” is a NMU Dining program to allow individuals with a meal plan to pre-order and pick up a meal when they will be unable to come into the Dining Facility for a designated meal period because of a conflicting event.

Each meal plan participant requesting this service will be required to complete and submit the “Meals on the Go” application form to the Simply Superior Catering & Events Office (Room 1104) University Center, one week prior to the start date.

Once the application is accepted, the student will receive an email.

You may submit a “Meals on the Go” order form for meals you will miss. These forms are available in the Simply Superior Catering & Events Office.

This service is available

Monday – Thursday Lunch & Dinner

The Wildcat Express Office will deduct one meal for this service if the student fails to pick up brown bag meal.

Students will request their “Meals on the Go” from the cashier in the MP and Café Libri. The cashier will swipe the student’s card and deduct a meal from their plan.

To ensure a safe and high quality product, lunches must be consumed within 4 hours of pickup.

The participant is responsible for notifying the Simply Superior Catering & Events when they want to stop the “Meals on the Go” program, by emailing meet@nmu.edu or calling 906-227-2623.

Sick Tray Take-Out Request

stLogo

Housing and Residence Life and NMU Dining would like to ensure the wellness of all students using the dining halls by offering the Sick Tray Take-Out Request form for those currently ill with the flu.

Download the Sick Tray Request Take-Out form, and then take the completed form to your resident advisor (RA) or resident director (RD) for them to sign.

Remember, NMU Dining requires a RA/RD signature on the form and your NMU id in order for a roommate, suitemate, or friend to pick up your meal. Most importantly STAY IN BED AND REST. Do not come into the dining halls if you are sick.
