All students living on campus are required to participate in a meal plan, which allows them to eat at either the Wildcat Den or the Marketplace All freshmen are required to have a Constant Meal Plan which allows for unlimited meal swipes. After their freshmen year, students can remain on the Constant Meal Plan or choose from either the 14 meals/ week or 8 meals/ week plan.
Meal plans can be changed prior to the beginning of the semester with the Housing Office (227-2620). After the semester begins, changes to meal plans may be made for the first two weeks of the semester at the Wildcat Express Office, located on the first floor of the University Center.
When living in the residence halls at NMU you are required to have one of the Residence Hall Meal Plans. However, dining services recognizes that there are certain circumstances that may make a meal plan on campus an issue. We have a process to receive a "Room Only" contract (i.e. no meal plan). The following are examples of cases for application of a "Room Only" contract.
If you would like to apply for a "Room Only" contract please download the application in PDF format. The instructions are on the first two pages and the application follows. A decision will be made upon submission of the application.
NMU has a registered dietitian to serve the student population on campus. Robin Rahoi would be happy to talk to you about any dining questions you may have. She can be reached at email@example.com
Just ask! Any questions dealing with your food options can be directed to the manager of the dining location. Any of our staff can help. View the contact list to see who you should contact or send us your comments using the feedback form.
To enter the dining facility, your card is swiped and you have a reasonable amount of time to eat all that you would like to. If you leave the dining location, you must swipe your card again to eat.
